Attic play room

This warm and friendly kids play space (Fliker.com) is a eye candy indeed. The designed did the best with the shape of the space and the limited lighting coming from the windows.

The floor was covered with red linoleum - a green material that is soft to the touch. It also absorbes sound well.

The walls and ceiling were paneled with wood panels in a light color. A nook was made - a fun space for kids to play in. It reminded me a mouse hole.

The room has two windows.

This window sheds light on the tiny kids-size sleeping nook.

Air conditioning keeps the room cozy.

Al in all this is a minimalistic playroom that alows the child/ren to do what ever they would like in it.

Apartment # 8

Bright and spacious apartment in the Pyrenees Mountains

A spacious apartment filled with bright light is nestled in the village of Girona, a city in the northeast of Catalonia, Spain in the Pyrenees Mountains. This cozy two bedroom apartment is organized into two heights, with the lounge centered around a cozy fireplace. The simplicity of the furniture and accessories were chosen for its decoration and are responsible for the special charm that they transmit throughout. Everything fits in this space; Nordic furniture coexists wonderfully with pieces of antique and rustic air accessories. The generously sized kitchen communicates with the dining room through a large serving hatch to facilitate the movement of food on the weekends. The open counter in the kitchen is used for casual dining with bar stools from Ikea. The sloping nature of the house housing made it possible to open holes in walls and the sloping roofs by placing many skylights. This renewal in the structure of the house increased the entry of natural light and ventilation in almost all of the spaces. Bleached pine wood and honey-colored finished oak combines in a nice contrast throughout. The internal structure of the master bedroom is the most ingenious of all. A wall of wood at medium height along the bed as a headboard creates, at the same time, a small dressing room on the other side.

This contemporary bedroom (elledecor.com) ceiling is the main focus of the room. The height of the ceiling and the unique wood design are stunning.

Here is an example of a rustic attic bedroom (tmblr.com).  The wooden beams set in the stucco ceiling echo the wood floor. Simple yet so sophisticated.

Here too, some of the wood beams are set in the stucco. Beautiful and spacious bathroom (pinterest.com).

Same ides done in a bathroom (House to home.com). Totally amazing.

More of the same idea.

This bathroom (pinterest.com) combines old wood beams and wood vanity with modern crisp white tub, old world fixtures and slate floor. Pure beauty.

Here the designer used wood beams to create a frame that visually separates between the bed area and the closet area.

This bedroom (freashome.com) was decorated with wood planks. Here again, the contrast with the white walls and linens create a serene and timeless room.

Another master bedroom with high ceilings decorated with wood beams. Stunning.

In this one-of-a-kind master bedroom by LDA (houzz.com) the vaulted ceilings were covered with wood planks. The result is dramatic yet warm.

In this loft beams were used to built the floor and the stairs. Together with all white surfaces the result is interesting and contemporary, though the materials are traditional.

And more ceiling beams.

In this attic apartment the supporting beams were made of reclaimed wood that adds character to the newly renovated space.

Same idea.
