- Child's Name:Amelia Josephine
- Child's Age:9 weeks
- Location:New Jersey
- Description:Amelia Josephine is the "Little Milk" of Jaime and Jordan Derringer of popular modern design blog Design Milk. Amelia's nursery is a modern colorful, visually-stimulating environment that at the same time oozes calm.
- Design Inspiration:The entire room was built around two objects - the Eames decals and the Alexander Girard rug. They tell a funky, graphic color story that's actually not as overwhelming as I originally expected. In fact, in the end it all came together nicely.
- Decorating Style:Modern, contemporary - calm but not boring.
- Project Details:Sources:
- Eames Crosspatch wall decals: Blik
- Rocker: Craigslist
- Roh crib, dresser, and changing table: Spot on Square
- Mattress and changing pad: Nook
- Alexander Girard FLOR Flora rug: FLOR
- EXPEDIT bookshelf, RENS sheepskin and DRÖNA boxes: IKEA
- For Like Ever poster: Super Rural
- Kartell Componibili: Smart Furniture
- Geneva Sound System: Geneva
- Frederick the Elephant & Abraham Dinosaur toys: Bholu
- Wooden rattles: Little Alouette
- Hand Painted Animal Nesting Dolls: SiteNYC
- Frazier & Wing Summer mobile: Frazier & Wing
- Schylling Sock Monkey: Amazon
- Nimboo pillow: Bholu
- Wall color: Embellished Blue by Sherwin-Williams
- Favorite Items:The crib. Hands down. It's just so cool.
- Advice:Work around something like an accessory or pattern to draw inspiration for the whole room. Don't purchase the big stuff first, instead buy something you really love and build around that item. Don't be afraid to mix patterns and colors - it's good for babies!
