Attic apartments are always special. They benefit from a series of advantages and characteristics that no other type of space has. For example, attic apartments are naturally cozy and inviting. This is due to the pitched roof in some cases, to the existence of exposed wooden beams and to the overall shape and structure of the space.This particular attic space is very inviting and beautiful. It has an interesting interior décor featuring lots of color. Surprisingly, the rooms are very bright.

The windows are not extremely large but, in addition to those, the apartment also has skylights that let in plenty of natural light and brighten up the atmosphere. The coziness of this space also comes from the wooden floors that have a beautiful texture and add warmth to any décor. The high ceiling is beautiful and the fact that it also has exposed wooden beams makes it even more beautiful.

The apartment features a large open floor plan that contains a spacious kitchen, an inviting living area and a dining room. They all share a long space and are seamlessly delimitated by columns and by the use of different colors. The bedrooms have personalized color palettes and they’re relaxing and stylish. The balconies allow panoramic views over the surrounding area and they’re a beautiful extension of the living area and master bedroom.{found on Per Jansson}.

i am not ashamed to admit it...i have a massive design crush on portland designer, jessica helgerson. i have proclaimed my love for her on bliss in the past (and you should really check it out), but since my latest glimpse of jessica's site i am just plain silly. all silly because of the tiny house she and her family have been residing in for the last several years. she chose this home because she wanted to live simply and environment friendly..."an experiment in reuse and reduction." love that! Refusing to change the footprint of this structure, it was all about making the best use of space; creating magical nooks and just the right amount of charm. it doesn't hurt that this home sits on one of my favorite portland destinations, sauvie island...5 acres of magic...

yep, a huge crush! when the frenches finally settle down, jessica will be a part of my dream space i just know it! xo mrs. french

Stunnig Attic Office Transformation

I'm so excited to feature another blogger's room transformation. So lets get right to it. Kateyln James is photographer living in Richmond and I came across her blog a couple of weeks ago. The second I saw her home office makeover I fell in love with the space. Kateyln transformed an unmemorable spare room into the most stunning home office I've ever encountered. She was kind enough to let me feature it here.

There are so many pieces I love in this space. First, the beautiful modern settee paired with two accent chairs and a mirrored accent table created an inviting seating area.

And who would not want to work in this desk area? Its so crisp and clean. The chair really gives the perfect pop of color to compliment the white.

And what really gives the space a vintage shabby chic feel is Kateyln's selection of the simple yet elegant accessorises which complete the look beautifully.
